Past Chairman gets a nice surprise

On 15th May former Chairman of Tyne-Tees Centre Maurice Standish took up the invitation to attend the offical opening of the John Thornley Suite at Kimber House. It was no simple courtesy that Maurice was invited because he had done all the architectural design work for the extension so it was entirely appropriate that he should be there. However, there was a big surprise for Maurice when unexpectedly for him, it was announced that he had been voted MGCC Member of The Year. As Maurice in typical modest style said when he came home: "I was amazed to come home with a very nice silver cup and the title of 'Member of the Year'! The extension has turned out very well and everyone there was very complimentary so I felt very proud to have been given this honour, not only for myself, but also for Tyne Tees Centre."
Maurice wasn't sure if there would be any photographic evidence of the event so he came over to have his picture taken by Sheila Hope and here he is below:
Well done indeed Maurice.
